I’m making my way through Umbrella Academy. I’m not finished yet (so no spoilers), but… thoughts. 1) I love this show. 2) More and more streaming television is making me feel like I can see the strings.

There’s a thing in games where you spend all your money up front because only X number of users make it past the first level.

I can imagine television going the same way. Netflix collects data. Draws conclusions. Those conclusions are then passed onto the showrunner. “Put the most into one and two. You need a twist in four. Another in seven. End ten on a cliffhanger…”

I’m not saying it’s happening. Just where my brain’s at this morning.
